PLIDA A1.1 Beginner

This course is designed for students with no previous knowledge of Italian and aims to develop students' basic communicative skills in Italian.

​

PLIDA A1.2 Beginner

This course is designed for students with beginner proficiency in Italian, equivalent to 1 or 2 trimesters of previous study.

​

PLIDA A1.3 Beginner

This course is designed for students with beginner proficiency in Italian, equivalent to 3 or 4 trimesters of previous study.​

​

PLIDA A2.1 Elementary

This course is designed for students who have completed the Italian A.1 sequence or have 1 year of previous study.

PLIDA A2.2 Elementary

This course is designed for students who have completed the Italian A2.1 course or have a comparable level (A2.1) of Italian.

PLIDA A2.3 Elementary

This course is designed for students who have completed the Italian A2.2 course or have a comparable level (A2.2) of Italian.

PLIDA B1.1 Intermediate

This course is designed for students who have completed the Italian A.1 and A2 sequences or have 2 years of previous study.

FAQs

What Can I Expect?

Our students learn to hone their language skills in a fun, engaging, and culture-oriented environment, progressively improving their expertise in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. In our classes, students listen to Italian songs and have conversations, watch Italian movie excerpts, present their projects, and, most importantly, are constantly engaged in group or paired activities.

What is PLIDA? 

The PLIDA program follows the guidelines of the European Committee for the Teaching of Foreign Languages. Hence, the program focuses on the development of the four basic linguistic competencies (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) with a particular accent on cultural matters. 

​

How long is each session?

Classes meet once a week for 10 weeks.

​

What is the tuition? ​

Tuition for online classes is regularly $350, Dante members Pay $325. Tuition must be paid in full before the beginning of the first class. Late Registration Fee: $25

​

​Do you have a refund policy?

Students who wish to withdraw from a class must notify the instructor no later than the second class meeting. Tuition will be refunded less an administration fee of $50.  No Eventbrite fees will be refunded. In the event the course is canceled, full tuition will be refunded, minus Eventbrite fee. There are no refunds after the second week of classes. We may grant credit vouchers valid for the following trimester for unforeseen serious medical conditions.​ Unfortunately, fees associated with credit card transactions cannot be refunded. 

 

What is the class size?

Classes have to have a minimum number of 4 registered students in order to start. Class size is limited to a maximum number of 14 students in person, and 12 online.

 

​Where do I get my textbook?

Nuovo Espresso is our required Textbook. Links to purchase the different levels of textbooks are provided in the class descriptions.

​

Do you offer Private Lessons? 

Private lessons are not available at this time. 

​

Can I pay by Check?

Classes can be paid in full by check at the start of the semester. Please email admin@dantemass.org  or call the school information telephone line at 617-301-8354 to sign up and pay via check.
